The project sets up a comprehensive and intelligence odor online monitoring system to reflect the real-time odor pollution condition within and beyond the site boundary of North Lantau Transfer Station and other 8 Outlying Islands Transfer Facilities in Hongkong.

        It contains total of 16 terminal odor monitoring instruments with 2 different models (TP-III and TP-II-YCL) All monitoring points can obtain the 9 types of gas concentrations, of which 8 are required by the “National Emission standards for odor pollutants” (GB 14554-93) and 1 is Volatile Organic Compound (TVOC) special required by HK Environmental Protection Department. A total of 16 instruments, 13 installed outdoors with type of TP-III model distributed on 8 islands. 3 TP-II-YCL model instruments all are installed in North Lantau Transfer Station, which can obtain the total amount of odor emission. Measurement data are uploaded to Info platform in real-time. Managers can control the odor emission condition by mobile app and internet at any time.
